A Local Builder with Community at Heart
Meet Mike Grapes, the Army veteran behind Grapes Building Services in Sandbach.
Meet Mike
I’m Mike Grapes, owner of Grapes Building Services. I started the business to give homeowners a more personal and dependable way to improve their homes, with one clear point of contact from the first visit and quotation through to the work on site and final checks.
My Army background shaped the way I work: turn up when you say you will, communicate honestly, solve problems and take responsibility for the result. I stay closely involved in every project and coordinate trusted specialist trades when they are required.
Based in Sandbach, we undertake bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms, garden rooms, garage conversions, media walls, bespoke storage, carpentry and wider renovation work across Cheshire.
Rugby, Community and Mental Health
Rugby and Sandbach RUFC are a big part of my life. I’m proud to give something back to the club, sponsor local players and support LooseHeadz and its #TackleTheStigma mental-health message.
In August 2023, I lost my brother Bradley to suicide. The support of friends and the rugby community meant a great deal to me in the months that followed. That experience is why mental-health awareness is personal and why I want to help make honest conversations part of everyday life.
Through rugby sponsorship, remembrance matches and community events, I hope we can encourage people to check in on one another and remind anyone struggling that they do not have to face difficult times alone.
The same values carry into the business: look after people, communicate properly, stand by your word and take pride in what you leave behind.
